The Salett Art Center, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization which started in 2011. The organization was inspired by the need for underserved communities to be educated about the history of jazz and blues.
Our Mission
At Salett Art Center, Inc. we are dedicated to fostering a love for jazz music among children and also provide concerts and workshops for our communities at large. Through our engaging programs, we aim to empower the next generation and through our concerts create an experience for our communities by raising the awareness of the rich history and cultural significance of jazz (America's music).
What We Do
We partner with various organizations to provide music enrichment programs for youth which will not only inspire creativity but boost their confidence and literacy skills, launching them into a greater world of creative possibilities. We host concerts to provide a platform for local artists to perform.

Executive Director
Lydia Dudley is a jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer living in the Raleigh Durham area. She received her Master's in Jazz Composition from North Carolina Central University. She has taught music to youth of all ages for 30 plus years. She incorporates songwriting as a tool to cope with challenges that many students face including, depression, anxiety, and more. Help Our Cause
Our December 2025 concert will be a tribute to Burt Bacharach who wrote for many popular artists. A portion of the proceeds will go to caregivers who support our aging communities. We will also feature several up and coming talented young musicians to provide an evening of entertainment for the entire family.
